Some people dream of starting their own business, that will be run right. Too often this turns into a nightmare costing them sanity, friends, family and cash.
This talk looks at starting a small business for technologists.
Technologists are both well equipped to start a business and often ham strung by their very strengths. In addition to answering the key question of "What do you need to start a business?", we visit some of the common reasons for business failure and how to avoid them.
Maurice has started two technology based businesses and seen them through the whole business cycle from birth to sale. In this talk he reflects on some of the things that worked, he wished he had known or learned the hard way.

An introduction to the basics of IPv6 and some perspectives about implementation and usage.
This talk is based on personal experiences of setting up and running sites connected by IPv6 over the last year and reflects some of the experiences gained in terms of usability and problems encountered in 2 different configurations. It also reflects on a small ISP looking into offering IPv6 services in Australia.

ZFS was designed to address decreasing reliability of storage as storage pools grow in terms of spindles and bytes. This talk addresses compares ZFS to other file systems and discusses its relative advantages and applications.
