Currently we roll the arena after every 2 horse hours of use. A horse hour is one hour of a horse on the arena. The arena is rolled with an Agri-Fab poly roller (supplied by Machinery West) towed behind a quad bike.
The arena is rolled in a pattern designed to maximise coverage and minimise overlap
In addition to rolling the arena we move material away from the walls with a shovel approximately every month. We are investigating machinery to perform this task.
