Dunning-Kruger effect

I bumped into the “Dunning-Kruger effect” an affect on a mailing list and discovered an effect that has been haunting my existence and just crying out for a name.
A quick Google search led me to the ABC and helped define it as “The dumb get confident, while the intelligent get doubtful.” (www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/scienceshow/the-dunning-kruger-effect/3102360)
Perhaps a more correct phrasing of this would be to trot out the old saw: “a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing”. With the corollary that only through acquiring more knowledge can the understanding of how little was known be appreciated.
